Sophie's Story

Sophie Harpley is a British artist and designer painting patterns by hand to create original wallpapers and linen. Inspired by modernist painting, botanical forms, antiques and travel; her fresh freehand style brings a relaxed and storied aesthetic to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Sophie's career began at The V&A Museum, discovering a love of decorative art, she then studied MA Graphic Arts with a focus on print. Her work has featured in press such as British Vogue, House & Garden or The Financial Times and attracted collaborations with names like The Royal Academy of Arts.

Most recently Sophie has partnered with Glassette, Annie Sloan, Domenica Marland and Haines Collection. In 2023 Sophie Harpley won a Homes & Gardens Design Award for her new wallpapers.
